Document Types
Statistica uses five principal document types:
Using these five document types, you can manage
data of various types, perform data entry and analysis, generate graphs
of the highest quality, develop custom applications of any degree of complexity,
and create custom-formatted reports.
You can quickly access most recently-used
documents. Click the Statistica
Start button
(on the lower-left corner of the screen),
and select Documents. On the General tab of the Options dialog box,
you can specify how many recently-used documents (up to sixteen) to display.
For more detailed information about each document type, see the overviews
for Spreadsheets,
Graphs,
Reports,
Macros,
and Workbooks.
Toolbars related to types of active document windows
Each of the main types of Statistica document windows (see above) manages
data in a different way, and thus offers different customization and management
options. These differences are reflected in the toolbars that accompany
each type of window. See Spreadsheet, Graph, Report, and Macro toolbars for specific details. Menu
commands for each of the main types of documents are described in the
respective following topics: Spreadsheet,
Graph,
Report,
and Macro
menus.
Note: That workbooks do not have a specialized
toolbar (although the Standard toolbar is
always available); however, when you are editing a spreadsheet, graph,
report, or macro within a workbook, the toolbar(s) (and menus) relevant
for that document type are available. When you select an "empty node"
in the workbook tree pane, by default, the Statistics toolbar is displayed
(in place of the specific document type toolbar) in order to maintain
the same size and proportions of the application workspace.
