Analysis/Graph Case Selection Conditions

  1. Click the Select cases button in any of the module or graph dialog boxes to display the Analysis/Graph Case Selection Conditions dialog box. In this dialog box, you can create selection conditions that select a subset of cases of your spreadsheet for your specific analysis or graph.

  2. Use the options in this dialog box to specify case selection conditions that are different from the case selection conditions that you have previously set for your spreadsheet [via Tools tab - Selection Conditions menu (ribbon bar) or Tools menu - Selection Conditions command (classic menus)]. The case selection conditions that you create here for the analysis/graph can be saved for future use.

Note: Selection Conditions and Graph Auto Updating. Graphs created with the Update from Spreadsheet option (on the Options 1 tab of the graph specifications dialog box) enabled are updated (either automatically or manually) to reflect spreadsheet data changes. Selection conditions are treated as a change in the data.

Graphs created through the Graphs menu default to the Use current Spreadsheet selection conditions option (see Change Selection Condition Source description below) available in the Analysis/Graph Case Selection Conditions dialog box. When this option is used in conjunction with the Update from Spreadsheet option, the graph update will include the current spreadsheet selection conditions at the time of the update.

The graph analyses also allow the Use selection conditions for this analysis/Graph only option (see Change Selection Condition Source description below) to be selected in the Analysis/Graph Case Selection Conditions dialog box. When this option is used in conjunction with the Update from Spreadsheet option, the selection conditions specified during the analysis will be maintained during a graph update, overriding any spreadsheet selection condition changes.
