Edit - Paste Special

Ribbon bar. On the Edit tab, in the Clipboard/Data group, click the Paste arrow and from the menu, select Paste Special to display the Paste Special dialog box.

Classic menus. From the Edit menu, select Paste Special to display the Paste Special dialog box.

Use the options in this dialog box to choose the desired format in which the Clipboard object will be pasted in the current document. The options available depend on the contents of the Clipboard and the options selected in this dialog box. Once you have specified how to paste the Clipboard object, click the OK button to paste it. Click the Cancel button to exit this dialog box without performing any action.

The Source field reports the source from which the current Clipboard object was taken. This information helps you determine what other options to select. For example, if the source is an Excel spreadsheet, you may want to use the Paste Link option button so that the selection is linked to the source file. Then, the selection is updated when the source file changes.

Select the Paste option button to paste the contents of the Clipboard into the document without maintaining any links to the source file. Select the Paste Link option button to paste the contents of the Clipboard into the document and maintain a link to the source file. Then, the selection is updated when the source file changes.

The As box contains a variety of formats in which the Clipboard contents can be pasted. Select the one that best suits your needs. To see what will result from selecting a specific format, select the format and read the description in the Result field. Finally, you can select the Display as icon check box to display the Clipboard contents as an icon in the STATISTICA Spreadsheet.
