Scatterplot by ... - with Box Plots

Choose this Graphs of Input Data option in order to create a compound graph containing a regular scatterplot of the variables with box plots for each variable displayed along the X- and Y-axis of the scatterplot, respectively.  Each component graph in this compound graph can be edited by double-clicking it.  This graph is particularly useful as an aid in deciding if particular data points in a scatterplot meet a user-specified criterion of being an extreme value or outlier (see Outliers and Extremes).

Note that the measures of central tendency and variability used in the box plots, the layout of the display and other features of the graph can be customized if this graph is selected from the Graphs menu (see the Graphs menu or Graphs Gallery).
