Text Labels

All values in STATISTICA can have two identities: text and numeric (e.g., Male and 1). Text Labels are entries (strings of characters) that label specific numeric values within a variable in the spreadsheet. Note that a text label will always correspond to a numeric value and the variable's data type can be Double, Integer, or Byte. All printable characters can be used as text labels, there is virtually no length limit (actually 10,000), and they are not case sensitive; Smith is equivalent to smith.

STATISTICA also allows for text values, (values created in a text type variable). See Text Labels Editor and Notes on Text Labels and Text Values for more details.
