Graph Window Overview

The graph window in Statistica not only serves to display the graph, but actually represents a very efficient and sophisticated graph-customization dialog box that enables you to make changes to practically all aspects of the graph (e.g., axes, scaling, labels, colors, patterns, etc) by simply double-clicking on the respective component (of the graph) in the graph window. You can also right-click on the currently highlighted graph component to display a shortcut menu and review the available types of customization options for that graph component. Refer to the Graph Overview for a description of the large number of graph customization options available in Statistica. Refer to the Graph Menu Bar topic for a listing of the options available when a graph is open.

Support for F4. To simplify the process of editing graph display features (e.g., font color, point markers, area patterns), Statistica provides support for the F4 key on your keyboard. This means that you can repeat  the last command you performed in the graph. For example, if you have just changed the title font to Arial, 12pt, Italic and you wish to make the same change to the axis titles, simply highlight the axis title you wish to update, and press F4. Note that the F4 buffer is graph specific. If you switch to a different graph and press F4, you will repeat the last action performed on that graph.

Interactive graphics controls. When the Display interactive graphics controls check box is selected in the Options dialog box, Graphs/Display tab, a bar containing sliders will be displayed at the bottom of your graph windows. Use the sliders to adjust plot area transparency and marker transparency, and rotate 3D graphs vertically and horizontally. Click the wrench icon near the right end of the bar to display the Graph Options dialog box.
