Spreadsheet Layouts

Ribbon bar. Select the Format tab. In the Spreadsheet group, click Layouts to display the Spreadsheet Layouts dialog box.

Classic menus. From the Format - Spreadsheet menu, select Layout Manager to display the Spreadsheet Layouts dialog box.

In this dialog box, which contains two tabs, General and System, you can view a list of available spreadsheet layouts and perform various operations on spreadsheet layouts.

Close. Click the Close button to close the dialog box without changing the spreadsheet layout.

Edit. Click the Edit button to display the Edit Spreadsheet Layout dialog box, where you can edit the existing spreadsheet layout selected in the list box.

New. Click the New button to display the Spreadsheet Layout Name dialog box, where you can specify the name of a new spreadsheet layout. After you have specified a name, the Edit Spreadsheet Layout dialog box will be displayed where you can set the options of the new spreadsheet layouts. See Create a New Spreadsheet Layout.

Delete. Click the Delete button to delete the existing spreadsheet layout selected in the list box. A dialog box will be displayed that prompts you to verify that you want to delete the selected item. Click Yes if you want to continue. Click No if you want to exit the dialog box without deleting the selected spreadsheet layout. Note that this option is not available if you have selected a default spreadsheet layout.

Rename. Click the Rename button to display the Spreadsheet Layout Name dialog box, where you can rename the existing spreadsheet layout selected in the list box. Note that this option is not available if you have selected a default spreadsheet layout.

General tab

Select the General tab of the Spreadsheet Layouts dialog box to access options to view a list of available spreadsheet layouts.

System Default. Select the System Default spreadsheet layout and click the Edit button to edit the default format(s) of spreadsheets. The format(s) you specify for the System Default spreadsheet layout will apply to all new spreadsheets that are created. For step-by-step instructions on applying a spreadsheet layout to the current spreadsheet, see Apply a Spreadsheet Layout. When this System Default is selected, only the Close, Edit, and New buttons are available in the Spreadsheet Layouts dialog box.

In addition, any New spreadsheet layout that you have created will be listed on this tab. Note that when you select a spreadsheet layout that you have created, all options in the Spreadsheet Layouts dialog box will be available.
