Applying a Format

Formats can be quickly and consistently applied to segments of data. Once a format has been created (see Create a New Format), it can be applied to any part (or all) of the data in a spreadsheet.

To apply an existing format, follow these instructions:

In the spreadsheet, select the cells that you want to format. Then,

Ribbon bar. Select the Format tab. In the Block group, click Format Manager to display the Format Manager dialog box.

Classic menus. From the Format - Block submenu, select Format Manager to display the Format Manager dialog box.

Select the name of the format you want to apply to the selected cells.

Note: You can also right-click on the block of selected cells in the spreadsheet, and from the shortcut menu, select the desired format from the Format submenu.
