How do I apply a format?

Formats can be applied quickly and consistently to segments of data. Once a format has been created (see How do I create a new cell/block format?), it can be applied to any part (or all) of the data in a spreadsheet.

To apply an existing format, first select the cell(s) that you want to format in the spreadsheet. Then, right-click on the selected cell(s) and select Format from the shortcut menu to display a submenu, where you can select the desired format.

Alternatively, select the cells you want to format, and then:

Ribbon bar. Select the Format tab. In the Block group, click Formats and from the menu, select the desired format.

Classic menus. From the Format - Block submenu, select the desired format.
